Today they'd just installed LoJack on my Mazda 3. With this device, police can locate and track a stolen car and usually retrieve it within hours. Not sure there is a similar system/service in Thailand. I think I heard of such a thing back 10 years ago.

We purchased this option even though Mazda 3 came stardard with an alarm system and car key has an electronic chip inside which system will check when starts. If a key is a copy one (no or wrong chip), then car won't start.

What security device you guys use ? Sometimes, I still use steering wheel lock.

I got the same key+electronic chip as you do(we call it Immobilizer here) and simple central lock remote and that's all (I'm talking Protege 2.0 top model when I bought it here). The theory here is just get as many security devices as you can to slow them down because they seems to able to break all that at last anyhow.

The mention tracking system is still new here. Not sure if anyone in the club's got it yet but I doubt it.

ส่วนใหญ่ที่เห็นในเมืองไทยก็จะเป็นรีโมทแบบที่คุณเล็กว่ามา และก็ที่เห็นบ่อยก็จะเป็นที่ล็อกคันเกียร์

ถ้าเป็นรถที่ออกใหม่ก็มักจะมีกุญแจ Immobilizer มาให้ด้วย

ส่วนระบบ tracking ยังไม่เป็นที่นิยม อาจจะเนื่องมาจากราคาด้วย
และผมก็คิดว่าถึงมีใช้กัน ตำรวจเมืองไทยก็คงไม่มีสักยภาพเพียงพอที่จะช่วยเราได้เหมือนในอเมริกา เพราะตำรวจในเมืองไทยยังไม่ศักดิ์สิทธ์พอ (ตำรวจเมืองไทยโดนยิงกลางผับ ผู้ร้ายยังไม่กลัวเลยอ่ะ แต่ของอเมริกาถ้ายิงตำรวจนี่เป็นเรื่องใหญ่มากเลย) และที่สำคัญตำรวจเมืองไทยยังไม่มีวินัยเพียงพอครับ

อยากถามคุณ yworr ว่าที่USA รถ MAZDA 3 ขายดีเพิ่มขึ้นกว่ารุ่นเก่าๆไหม และใช้แล้วชอบไหม ถ้าเปรียบเทียบกับ VW ที่ใช้อยู่ละ

I believe Mazda sold Mazda 3 more than Mazda 6 and Protege here. I saw 3 more than 6 on streets, especially 4 dr. Hardly seen 5dr Hatch. But somehow they don't have a lot of car available at the dealer. Maybe ten, max. So not a lot of choices.

I don't use it daily. It's my wife's car. But so far, we love it. My VW Passat is another story. It has more features and safety standard than Mazda 3, i.e. Traction Control, ABS, lots of Air Bags, leather seats with heater, 5-speed Automatic, etc. Also, you can open or close all windows and sunroof the same time with car key, cool !!!. I feel more solid and heavier when driving in Passat than Mazda 3. The 3 is more fun to drive, maybe because it is lighter, low profile tires and has similar power (160 hp compared to Passat 170 hp).

Some of them are options on Mazda 3, but they are kinda expensive. So we just went for the base model + automatic. No extra Air Bags, no ABS, no leather.

We use Mazda 3 for the short trip. For the long trip, we use VW. Probably, Mazda 3 is still new (a month old), so we don't use it so much. It still smells a new car.
